This painting depicts the North American F-51 Mustang piloted by Captain John J. Laurie, the first pilot killed while on duty with the 183rd Tactical Fighter Group, Illinois Air National Guard. This painting, registered as part of the Base Commander's collection, 183rd Tactical Fighter Group, was stolen from the administration building and is still unaccounted for.
